Behind the Scenes February 2025

Hi there, Highly Sensitive Person - 


What weird full moon energy we're having right now!


Everyone I've talked to today (including myself, because I give great advice) has said they're just done today. Over it.


Lots of slogging, low-energy, "blahs" are going around right now.


And while I felt bad about being in the blahs for about an hour and a half, I realized that this is a natural retraction period after a BIG season of change, effort, and growth.


It's normal to need a break after you've been leaning into life HARD lately, and it doesn't mean anything about you if you need a rest and a break for a hot minute.


This was a lesson it took me YEARS to learn, and I still catch myself interrupting those patterns when


I see them raising their heads like an internal whack-a-mole game in my mind.


In addition to sharing my version of the expansion - retraction cycle in this week's episode of the Highly Sensitive Club, I want to give you permission to take it easy on yourself this week too.

  • Navvi (my new music obsession - slow, electronic, ethereal)

  • The Empyrean series by Rebecca Yarros (Fourth WingIron Flame, and Onyx Storm, which just came out two weeks ago!)

  • The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (one of my all-time favorite N64 games)

  • Great British Bake Off (series 7 currently, working out way forward)

  • Virgin River (if Hallmark were soapier!)

  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (because there's no such thing as too much Link)
