How to Turn Your Big Dreams into Small Steps

Hi, Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) -
Picture this: You finally sit down with your brand new notebook (you know, the one you've been saving for your special thoughts).
You open the first page, cracking the spine for the first time since you smelled the pages at the bookstore, and start writing a list of your goals and dreams.
Maybe you even try the "Day in the Life" exercise where you describe your ideal day in detail to really feel what it would be like to have your perfect day.
You get done with your list and you chuck yourself on the shoulder for making these Big Life Decisions (like Anthony Michael Hall writing the perfect teenage manifesto at the end of The Breakfast Club).
You have a Big Life Goals List!
You did it!
Excitement!
Then you close the notebook, excitedly thinking about the next time you'll sit down to make the Action Plan to go with your super special Big Life Goals List.
Then a day or two go by.
Then a week.
Then another week.
Before you know it, it's been a few months, and the seasons are changing again.
Still no Big Life Goals Action Plan.
You seriously consider tearing out the Big List Goals List (carefully, of course, so the notebook feels new again) and starting over.
Maybe you're just not that passionate about these goals.
Maybe you just need a fresh boost of inspiration.
It's not that your goals or your dreams weren't exciting enough, my dear HSP.
It's not that "life happened" or you got "too busy."
Your brain didn't know how to make it's Big Goals and Dreams happen, so it opted for something easier, like scrolling YouTube shorts or watching the newest Star Wars show on Disney+.
Your brain literally got spooked by the magnitude of it's own dreams and desires.
"Which one's the most important?"

"How am I going to make all of this happen?"
"Will someone just tell me what to do, please and thanks??"

You walk away knowing what your next step is and when you're going to take it.
It feels simple.
You're curious and excited to try it.
You take an action - thereby building evidence that your dreams are Goldilocks (just right) and your actions are working.
You know exactly what the next step is.
You take it.
You celebrate your win.
On to the next action.
Imagine how that version will feel and what you'll be able to accomplish.
