Day 13 - Your First Mindset Shift to Actually Change Your Life

Back on track, and I'm takin' care of business. Woo woo!

I started to talk about mindset yesterday, which is the secret sauce that actually makes change happen.

No amount of actions can help you get past mental blocks that will slow you down and create friction until you just go back to doing what you were doing.

You can't "power through" this one.

So here's the first thing to keep in mind with your thoughts.

You have to face the fact that you have a desire, a want, to overeat junk food, put things down wherever and not put them away right away, watch Netflix instead of read, do anything else but go to the gym.

This radical responsibility is how you get yourself out of victim mode and into creator mode.

Sure, there are plenty of external circumstances that may be getting in your way.

Do you think the type of person who's doing the thing you want to do has a perfect life with absolutely no obstacles and all the time in the world?

Of course not!

Anyone who goes to the gym MAKES that time in amongst family responsibilities, work, errands, taking care of the house, and the millions of other tiny things we do that add up into a day.

You have to recognize in yourself that there's a part of you that really LIKES procrastinating and putting things off.

My guess? Based on personal experience?

You don't want to be uncomfortable.

Been there! Like, big time been there!

I'm learning how to be uncomfortable as you read. As I WRITE this, I'm uncomfortable.

So, do you want to be the type of person who blames time and circumstance and your busy schedule, or do you want to be the person who figures out how to take a few minutes every day to build the life you want?

I KNOW you can be the kind of person who finds a few minutes every day to start.

You really are.

If I can do it, and I ran away from ANY uncomfortable feelings for DECADES, you can do it too.
